Using four armor slots maximizes DEF, while remaining slots are best used for weapons or spellbooks that raise AGL and MANA.

Mutants

Mutants gain stats through weapon usage and can also learn special skills. They can hold up to four skills, with remaining slots for equipment.

  • HP: ~1 in 15 battles
  • STR: ~1 in 50 battles
  • AGL: ~1 in 18 battles
  • MANA: ~1 in 8 battles
  • DEF: ~1 in 7 battles

Skills replenish at inns when depleted. Cure is permanent, while other offensive and defensive skills can be mixed to suit party needs.

Robots

Robots receive their stats directly from equipment. They have seven equipment slots in addition to O-Pa/Po and do not gain MANA.

Agility-focused weapons are commonly used to improve their speed and effectiveness. Armor and stat bonuses stack differently than for other races, and robots can equip multiple armors in the same slot.

Status Ailments

The eight status ailments are: Stoned, Cursed, Blind, Stunned, Sleeping, Paralyzed, Poisoned, and Confused.

  • Stun / Ston: Character is incapacitated. Stun clears after battle; Ston requires healing.
  • Slep / Para / Conf: Prevent actions or cause random behavior until cured.
  • Pois: Causes HP loss each turn.
  • Blnd / Curs: Persist after battle and reduce stats until healed.

Most conditions heal automatically after combat except Blind, Curse, and Stone. Specialized resistances protect against specific ailments.
